Post-It Note Holder Tutorial

So here it is! This is my tutorial on post-it note holders. I learned how from this thread on Splitcoaststampers.com. Please let me know if there is anything that doesn't make sense!

Supplies:
Cardstock
Paper trimmer with scoring blade
Post-it note pad
Embellishments (optional)

Step 1: Cut cardstock to 7 ½ inches long.

Step 2:
Cut cardstock to 3 ½ inches wide.

Step 3:
Score cardstock at 3 ½ inches and again at 4 inches.

Step 4:
Fold cardstock on score line. Then flip it over and fold the other side, both sides should be folded in towards each other.

Step 5:
Put adhesive all around the back of the post-it note pad.

Step 6:
Place post-it pad on cardstock with even border of cardstock all the way around. It should fold together like this once it is in there.

Step 7:
Embellish as you like! I used narrow organdy ribbon, my mega scalloped circle punch, dimensionals, Happy Harmony from SU, and a sentiment from Wordsworth.
And here is the final product! These are really simple, make great gifts, and can be dressed up many ways!
I will be giving this one away to one lucky blog reader. All you have to do is post a comment on this tutorial and tell me what you would like to see me do a tutorial on! Please, let me know what I do (or may what I can learn to do) that you would like to see a step by step tutorial on. I will choose a winner Wednesday, January 17th at 10pm. Your suggestion must be posted before 9pm CST.
Enjoy!

I am definitely going to make some of these as little gifts! Do you think you could do a tutorial on the RSVP pens to match? I honestly don't know to do these....but would like to give them as a gift to match the post it note holder.
Thanks for your blog and sharing your creativity!

I've seen posts of SCS regarding these post it note holders but never any pictures....these are beautiful & the tutorial is very easy to follow. Thank you. I'm also going to try your mac & cheese receipe - just love mac & cheese - it's my standby when I'm 'cooking' for one (I just use the packet one)

I have a bunch of these post it pads just sitting here waiting to be put to use. Thank you for an excellent tutorial on how to do this. I have no one idea for anything else for you to tell us how to make, anything is fine as I am not creative at all but I follow instructions pretty well. I will be happy with whatever. Thanks for all the time you take.

Thought of another tutorial I would love to see....I would love to learn how to make a criss-cross card I see so often on SCS. I have seen printed directions but I don't get it....I think a tutorial would help me visualize how to make it. What do you think?

Love these. Thanks for the great tutorial...very clear and easy to understand.

Whoops...I forgot to add what I'd like to see a tutorial on. I just bought a bunch of those chipboard coasters from someone on SCS. I would love to see you do something cool and creative with those that I could copy ;)

i'd love to see a tutorial on how to cover those large (wooden?) letters with paper/embellishments. i always see those and think they're so cool but don't know how to start.

the post-it note holders are so cool; those would make great gifties for valentines. and look straightforward too; thanks for the tutorial.

I just love this post it note holder, I also made a diamond book from your tutorial, I haven't finished with all the embellishments but the book is done and your instructions are awesome, I would love to learn how to make some of those cute pens that match also!

Wow, Emily, you make it look soooo easy! Love how you use the PC scraper instead of a bone folder. I use mine for sooo many things, too! Thanks for being so generous!

Emily, you did such a wonderful job on it! Loved it!! I'm into punches and anything scalloped edged but most time I draw a blank. Can you please do a tutorial on anything you can come up with for punches?
thanks,
cammy

Thanks for this. Great gift idea. I love your blog and have learnt so much from you here. Look forward to every addition. Is your signature your own handwriting or a font? I love it - would really like to use it as a font if it's available. Thanks.

Hmm... maybe a donut card or a suspended type thing with fishing line. I don't even know how to explain that one.

Thanks so much for your willingness to do these tutorials for us! I can't wait to try the post it note holder!

Emily... I have seen a lot of papercrafted post-it holders but this one has to be my favorite. I love that you personalized it with the monogram. Thanks for sharing the instructions. I have seen some samples of tea bag card holders using envelopes but can't seem to find instructions. I would also love to see tutorials on how to make papercrafted gift items where I could use my paper scraps. Thanks for sharing your designs!

I would love it if you could demo a tutorial on using modge podge; how do you cover (for example) those little Target mailboxes. what types of brushes work best and how do you measure for odd shapes for the best paper coverage :0)
I love your creativity!

What lovely examples, as usual. Your color selection and images are great. An idea for a tutorial is how and when to do paper piercing - those cute little corner dots, for example.

love it! very cute...i've always wondered about the glue, but I saw your glue link and I laughed hysterically at the 1974 WW cards link, as well. (I personally was served some tuna/v-8/mashed potato WW dish as a child in the 70's)
future tutorial ideas....i love all your paper stuff but what i really want to know is how you did your digital signature....

thanks for sharing!

I also vote for a tutorial on those awesome explosion boxes/albums!
