One of my favourite things is what I'm making for supper tonite. I had it once when I was out for dinner, and thought that it should be fairly easy to make at home. It's basically linguine with a tomato/alfredo sauce, and it has chicken, cracked peppercorns, green peppers and bacon in it. When I had it, there were also mushrooms in it - I don't care for them, so I left the 'shrooms out!

Congrats on your milestone! I'd love to win - what a great giveaway!!

Have a great weekend!

Hi, Emily!

One of my favorite things is something I'm looking forward to making to eat during next week's SuperBowl (Go! Colts!) It's called crockpot Italian Beef. Mmmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Here's the recipe! (feel free to edit this out if it's too long!)
Crock Pot Italian Beef
(The most requested recipe at our house!)

Everyone loves this. It's soooo good.

Ingredients:
3 -4 lb. chuck or rump roast -- trimmed of fat (I prefer rump roast-not so greasy after cooking)

1 package dry Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix -- zesty or the regular

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1/2 of a 16 oz. jar pepperoncini peppers -- including juice (or more to taste)

1 can beef broth -- (or 1 to 2 cups hot water mixed with a teaspoon or two of beef flavored Better than Bouillon—this is what I use)-or more if needed

fresh ground pepper, garlic powder, etc. – optional

favorite cheese (cheddar, colby/jack, mozzarella, provolone, etc.)

kaiser rolls

Mix all ingredients together in a slow cooker or crockpot. Make sure you cut the roast into smaller hunks if it is a big piece so it will cook better. Cook all day on low (or #3 in a slow cooker).

When meat is done, shred it and put back in its juices. (I try to remove some of the floating grease first)

Serve on warm kaiser buns (toast if desired). Top with favorite cheese--cheddar, colby/jack, mozzarella/cheddar, etc.
Warm in the microwave if cheese needs to be melted.

Can also top with sautéed onions, green peppers, and mushrooms if desired.

This makes AWESOME leftovers!!!

***Notes:
Pepperoncini peppers... They look sort of like banana peppers. They come in a jar. You'll find them in the same aisle as pickles and olives.

I have doubled this recipe and cooked in my really big crockpot.

A single recipe easily feeds my hungry family of five 2 meals w/some leftovers.

One of my other favorite things is to receive unasked for hugs from our 10 and 11 yo daughters and 15 yo son. Ahhhhh.

It totally motivated me to get back into reading. Last year I read 54 books!! I got a journal for my SIL, mom and MIL and challenged them to do the same thing in 2007!

Hi Emily - I LOVE reading stamping/cooking blogs like yours! I also love reading about your family - you've got such cute little guys and MamaK has such cute little girls! I love to read, and this year am reading through the Bible. I also love journaling (not the SB'ing kind) - it helps me see how God is so faithful over the years. I read about what I worried about and how it never came to pass and how the Lord has blessed our family...

My favorite thing, having thought this over for some time now before commenting, has to be knitting. I used to do at lot more than i have recently. I had rheumatic fever as a child and so I learned to knit before I was 8. Since I was 8 I've knitted this perfectly British (as was my grandmother) Baby Mary Janes for everyone who had a baby. Still do. Lately I've been knitting mittens for a local hospital that collects them all year to give out to people, mainly children, who come to the hospital without warm things.

But in truth, I think I stamp about the same amount of time. I'm not as good at stamping, but I am a good replicator.

Thanx...and keep blogging. I love to read blogs.

Way to go Emily!!! One of my favorite things is the time with my children at the end end of the day. I have time with each child alone and we read books and say our prayers together. No one else in the family is allowed to come in and interrupt this time.

Hi Emily!

I can hardly list just one of my favorite things! So I will list a couple!....rainbows & kisses from my 4 babes who range in age from 8 mo to 5 1/2 years! Of course, all but the youngest have been introduced to stamping....another one of my most favorite things!

Congrats on your 20,000 hits!

There are so many things I could list as favorites that I initially thought this might be a hard question to answer. Yet, my mind immediately went to the smell of rain, or more specifically, the smell of rain, after the rain.

I picture myself standing outside with my eyes closed. I breathe in deep that fresh smell of rain; the promise of new beginnings. I can hear the birds chirping and feel the warm breeze tickle my arms and brush my skirt against the back of my knees. It embraces me and offers comfort. Slowly, my vision brightens as the sun pushes free from the spent clouds. I can't help but open my eyes and search about in hopes of finding a rainbow. It is just a moment, a common place event in nature, but it really is such a spiritual, awesome experience, that I have to call it one of my favorite things. I just wish I had the words to do the experience justice. Oh well, I bet you get the idea.

Congratulations on the success of your blog!

And took ingredients I already had in my pantry so I can make them any time!

Emily,
I love so many things it is hard to come up with just one; stamping, golf, baking, dinner parties. But everything else takes a back seat to spending time with my grandson. He just turned two in December and is the light of our lives. With daughters 27 and 28, you forget how much fun toddlers are. The quick minds, the copy cat moves and the endless energy.

Congrats on the 20,000 mark. I found your blog from SCS and followed the link. I love your style of cards and have copied more than I like to admit.

Keep up the great BLOG.

And last but not least all the blogs I visit (yours is at the top) daily for inspiration. Thanks for sharing your talent and creativity with the world.

Hi Emily,

Congrats on hittin' 20,000! That's amazing! You have great ideas and I love to see what new creations you have on the go!

I think my most favourite things are hugs and butterfly kisses from my little girls, 3 and 5 years old. Butterfly kisses are when you get close to someones face and bat your eyelashes as fast as you can and it tickles their face. They're so sweet!

My next favourite thing is stamping! I find myself stamping all sorts of things, it's such an obsession and therapeutic all at the same time. :)

My favorite things are my family. I know that is a pretty standard answer but it is so true. They drive me crazy some days (usually when I am tired from working) but they keep me grounded and they keep me real.

Wow, 20000 hits already! It's not too surprising, seeing how talented you are! What is my favorite thing? To list only one is difficult. Right now, it's getting new goodies in the mail! I love seeing my UPS lady, the mail lady, the Purolater guys ... Opening up packages of fun stuff to play with and use. Another fav is to browse around SCS, SU, and the many many blogs around!

I just got back from a long weekend of scrapbooking. When working long hours like that I like to have goodies along for munching. Right now my favorite is the Nestle Treasures Caramel. Ummmmmm, I think I may have to go up and get one or two right now. I've mananged to get my mom hooked on them as well as my dad, who claims to not like Nestle chocolates. These are worth a try if you haven't indulged yet.

Hey Emily...

I can't think of one thing that I love...so I'll share 10 random things that make me giddy.

10. Breaking into a fresh package of card stock. Seeing it all stacked so nicely and fresh and crisp makes me anticipate the things that it will become.

9. Chocolate pudding cups. I have no idea why, but they remind me of childhood. It's like being young again in a plastic cup.

8. A new toothbrush. I love the super straight bristles...no shaggy dog look, yet....I'm a very hard brusher!

7. Chocolate. I love it all...fine chocolate from little shops that costs way too much all the way to m&m's. I've even been known to break into a bar of baking chocolate when I really need a hit. Yikes!

6. In the spring when it rains but the sun is shinning. That is my favorite weather.

5. When you are taking pictures of your children and you happen to get that one amazing shot that really shows their true little personalities.

4. A really great scrapbooking store. The kind you can loose yourself in for hours. All the fresh stacks of paper, the embellishments, and I remember one in Phoenix that had all their ribbon displayed in jars...they took up an entire wall. THAT made me smile!

3. The feeling you get when you've finished a good run. You are hot, sweaty, and ready to die...but you made it. You'll feel it tomorrow, but for right now you are woman....ROAR!

2. Dancing in the living room with my 3 year old. He's such a fun, happy little boy, and whether it's now at 3 shaking our booties to the theme song from Cars to the day he gets married...he'll always be my favorite dancing partner.

1. The smell of my sweet baby girl after she's taken a bath and is rubbed from head to toe with baby lotion. So sweet...the smell of babies, so amazing...being her mother.

That's it...my favorite things! Sorry I couldn't narrow it down. And if I don't win...no biggie...I'm saving this, I have a feeling it will be a great scrapbook page!

Congrats on the 20,000 hits! I love seeing all you awesome designs and thanks for sharing such great recipes. One of my favorite things is saving $ at the grocery store with the grocery game- that I found about from you! (saved $80 today!) Something else I so love are the Chai Latte's at Starbucks- but I get the mix and make them at home 4.99 for a quart that makes about 8 talls!

This week I made two of my favorite things to eat together - a pot of chili and a batch of cornbread. YUM! Good! I slice a nice piece of corn bread and spoon liberal amounts of chili on top and eat to my heart's content. Oh, so good for my tummy.
